There are many reasons our clients chose Second Act Farm as the residence for their horses.  We offer a 180’ by 80’ outdoor riding arena with or without professional jumps and a 120’ by 60’ attached indoor riding arena. There are miles and miles of well maintained trails which are accessible right outside the barn leading down to the Shepaug River and through woods that boast brilliant autumn foliage and the green of spring and summer.

The barn itself consists of 16 12’ by 12’ stalls each one with a window to the outdoors, two 12’ wide aisles with four sets of cross ties each, a heated wash stall, heated office and bathroom with washer and dryer large enough to fit blankets, saddle pads, etc. and tack room with a locker for each stall.

We welcome all disciplines of riding.  There are facilities to support Dressage, Hunter/Jumpers, English, Western and Pleasure.  There is no resident trainer but rather several different trainers who have been using our facility to teach their own clients who board with us. Bettina Drummond, the internationally known Dressage master, trains out  of our barn.

The safety and health of all of our horses and they’re owners are the highest priority at our farm.  In case of an emergency there are several clinics which are located very near to us.  We have a truck and trailer always on hand to make sure the animal gets to the clinic as quickly and safely as possible.

And now we have to introduce you to one of the more whimsical aspects of Second Act Farm.  We have recently adopted four miniature donkeys who have captured the hearts of all.  They are Thelma, Louise, Buttercup and Wesley.  We are currently teaching them to drive and they are taking to it beautifully.  They welcome all visitors as they are the first residents that are seen as you drive to the barn.
